Pedersen, for Old Philadelphia Development Corp Dr. Margaret B. Tinkcom, Historian Mrs. Charles J. Maurer, Secretary SUBMISSIONS 225-227 Spruce Street. This was approved with the recommendation that Venetian blinds, or slatted shutters, be hung at the second and third floor windows. 108 Pine Street. The question shall be asked whether the draftsman can justify location of the first story windows as shown, whereas in the 1906 photograph the lintels approximately touch the first belt course. In all other details the drawing is approved and the Commission looks forward to an early submission of the working plans and full details. 508 Spruce Street. Although the survey describes the frontispiece as having columns, nevertheless the doorway in this drawing is approved. It is recommended that louvered shutters be hung at the second floor windows, but not at the third, as per the survey. An early submission of working drawings is expected 714 Pine Street. This is approved 1321 Locust Street, interior work and proposed fire tower. Approved. RESUBMISSIONS 268-270 S. Second Street. Progress report approved with commendation. 125 Pine Street. The Panelled shutters require a meeting rail; Venetian or lowered shutters are needed at the second and third floor windows. The new chimney should be simplified, the flues being less obtrusive. In all other details the submission is approved. 511 S. 2nd Street. Details of the bow window and doorway are approved. 937, 939 Lombard Street. Sheet of details for already approved plans are approved. PROBLEM 616 Spruce. A letter from the architect, who was told that work on this structure should resemble the treatment approved for 618 Spruce, tells the Commission that workmanship and materials used at 618 are shoddy. A reply shall state that the Commission thanks the writer for the information, but shall point out that it is the drawing for 618, as approved by the Historical Commission, that is the point of the letter on which he comments. It is known that workmanship on 616 will be good. Plaques Belles Court, S. Orianna Street. Two plaques, Nos. 273 and 274 are assigned as requested by the owners of # 7 and #5.
