The Committee began a review of this proposal at its meeting of 16 October 1978, noted a number of discrepancies between the submitted drawings and the photographs in file, requested a copy of the Redevelopment Authority's rehabilitation specifications, urged that the architect attend the November meeting, and tabled the proposal. At the November meeting, most of these problems persisted. Neither the architect nor the developer appeared, and the rehabilitation specifications, which date from 1972, lacked the specificity needed to provide adequate guidance. In view of this, the Committee again tabled the submission, urged that the architect attend the December meeting and requested a search for earlier photographs. 339 Queen Street, Baker, Rothschild, Horn and Blyth, architects. The Committee recommended the approval of the submission for the restoration of 339 Queen Street with the stipulation that several details be altered: 1) install a rainwater conductor box, 2) move the downspout so as to permit the shutter to clear it, and 3) basement window to match and align with first floor window. PROBLEMS 943 Lombard Street. The Committee recommended rejection of the proposal to demolish a portion of the rear ell, which faces on Tenth Street, to provide a larger garden and parking space. Parking can be provided in the existing easement and garden. CERTIFICATIONS The Committee recommended that the Commission pursue the certification of the Furness bank building at Sixth and Spring Garden Streets. The Committee recommended that the owner not be authorized to purchase a replacement owing to the modification of the dormer, the installation of exterior aluminum storm windows and the hanging of a window flower box. 690 South American Street. The Committee recommended the approval of a plaque for this property subject to an inspection by Mr. Bartley. 432 Lombard Street. The Committee recommended the rejection of the application for a plaque for this property owing to the inadequacy of the photograph presented by the owner; it is too small and does not show a full view of the building. The Committee noted, however, the absence of a rainwater conductor box and the construction of a planter on the sidewalk at the building face. Mr. Bartley will inspect the property to confirm this recommendation. 123 League Street. The Committee recommended the rejection of this application at this time. The second floor shutters are hung upside down and the stops are on the wrong side. 900 Waverly Street. The Committee recommended approval of this application subject to an inspection by the staff. 731, South Front Street. The Committee recommended approval of this application, but urged the installation of a rainwater conductor box. 315 South Chadwick Street. The Committee recommended the rejection of this application owing to the incorrect shutters and doors, the protruding air conditioners and the reduction of casement windows to accommodate the air conditioners.
