DRAFT MINUTES OF THE ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE MEETING 29 February 1968 Present were: Mr. George K. Trautwein, Chairman Mr. Richmond Pl Miller Mr. John F. Lloyd, for the Redevelopment Authority Mr. Erling H. Pedersen for Old Philadelphia Development Corp Dr. Margaret B. Tinkcom, Historian Mrs. Charles J. Maurer, Secretary submissions The Academy of Music. Mr. Pedersen submitted a design for gas lanterns for the facade on Broad Street (six) and four to be hung on the Locust Street facade. These were approved. 122 Lombard Street. The revised submission was approved. 123 Lombard Street. This was approved with the suggestion that the fanlight be divided into an appropriate number of sections and the arch head dormer, specifically mentioned in the survey be correctly delineated. 126 Delancey Street. It is strongly recommended that louvered shutters, rather than the panelled shutters shown, be hung at the second and third story windows. Details of the panelled shutters must be submitted if these are to be used and if used, should also be hung at the first floor windows, even though they overlap the stone supporting the arch over the doorway. All other aspects of the submission are approved. 213 Spruce Street. Rear addition is approved 335 S. 6th Street. This second submission is approved. 510 Spruce Street. This must be identical in every detail to 508 Spruce. This means three over three lights for the dormer windows; louvered shutters to the second story and no shutters on the third; and the frontispiece to be the same as its' twin on 508. Otherwise approved. 129, 131 and 133 N. 4th Street; 123 Cherry Street. This preliminary presentation is approved. The Commission looks forward to seeing the individual measured drawings complete with profiles of all details. St. Peter's Church, Wayne and Harvey, Germantown. This is approved. 224, 226, 228 S. 7th Street, Washington Square West. It was recommended that the Committee withhold comment on this preliminary presentation until the Redevelopment Authority has judged the several submissions which will be made in competition. However, it is to be noted that three architects entering the competition made use of the Commission's files in preparation for this competition. demolitions 243 S. 9th Street.
