THE HISTORICAL VALUES COMMITTEE REPORT May 26, 1970 The Historical Commission at its January meeting expressed its concern for the preservation of the nineteenth century commercial structures in the block between Chestnut and Walnut, Front and Second Streets. This concern is shared by the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the City Planning Commission. At that meeting no action was taken by the Commission to certify these structures and they are, consequently, being presented to the Commission at this time for action. Beginning with the north side of Chestnut Street from Front to Second it is recommended that the Commission certify the following structures: North side of Chestnut Street 50 North Front Street 103-05-07 Chestnut Street 113, 115, 117-121 Chestnut Street Northeast corner Second and Chestnut South Second Street 105 S. Second Street 117-123 S. Second Street 125, 127, 129, 135 S. Second Street South Front Street 102-04-06-08 S. Front Street 110-112, 114, 136 S.
