THE MINUTES OF THE ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE MEETING 20 February 1969 Present were: Mr. Richmond P. Miller, Member of the Commission Mr. John R. Lloyd, Architect, Redevelopment Authority Mr. Erling H. Pedersen, Architect, Old Philadelphia Development Dr. Margaret B. Tinkcom, Historian Mrs. Charles J. Maurer, Secretary SUBMISSIONS 316 Delancey Street, a new structure in the idiom of certified buildings 318 and 320 Delancey Street, R. M. Parsky, Architect. This was approved as a courtesy presentation. 1328 Rodman Street, Angelo Romani, Developer and Builder. This was concurred to with regard to interior changes only. Full approval is contingent upon front and rear elevations, complete with details of profiles of door and shutter moldings. 309 Pine Street. The Commission approves the details of moldings to be used on the exterior; no comment on interior alterations. A. DeRoy Mark, Architect. RESUBMISSIONS 218 Spruce Street, A. DeRoy Mark Architect. This is now approved. A drawing of wrought iron railing is expected. (This is now at hand and shows a salvaged railing of correct period) 419-421 S. Second Street; 423 and 425 S. Second Street, A. DeRoy Mark, Architect. The Review was postponed, the architect not being present nor had new drawings been submitted in time. 600 Spruce Street, an adjustment requested on approved drawings by Carl Massara, Architect, calling for the demolition of the backbuilding. This will be approved only if the south elevation is in the style, character and quality expected of the full restoration of the rest of this important building. Revised plans to show the position of windows and a door of the precise period to match original windows are required. It is emphasized that this demolition is permitted because the record shows that the main building and the back building were erected at different times. 119 Pine Street. This final submission is now approved. PROBLEM 713 Walnut Street. A progress report was given, stating that the postponed hearing is scheduled for ten o'clock, Thursday, February twenty-seventh and that the Assistant City Solicitor feels that the City has a good case against the violations cited on this certified building. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:15 P. M. Respectfully submitted,
