ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE MEETING 22 November 1966 THE MINUTES Present: Mr. George K. Trautwein, Chairman Mr. John F. Lloyd for Redevelopment Authority Mr. Erling H. Pedersen for Old Philadelphia Development Corp. Dr. Margaret B. Tinkcom, Historian Mrs. Charles J. Maurer, Secretary SUBMISSIONS 268 S. Second Street. Approved with the recommendation that the balustrade be identical front and back; that the doorway be centered under the window above it. Details of the doorway will be submitted after the accretions on the facade have been removed. 121 Lombard Street. Details of shutters and door are needed and whether the shutters ought to be two or three folds should be made clear. Glass, according to the survey, should be 10 x 12" in reveal frames, not in plank front frames as shown. Approval is contingent upon the clarification of the details. Period to which it has been restored is definitely approved. 424 Pine Street. Approved. 307 S. Third Street. Approved. 8217 Germantown Avenue. The preliminary submission is approved and the architect is asked to submit details of moldings, &c. The store front was briefly discussed. It appears that the remnent of former bulk windows is original. These should be studied. QUESTIONS 133 Pine Street. It is approved that, for the time being, the frontispiece may be omitted. This requires additional study as per recommendations made by Mr. Lloyd. 4126 Germantown Avenue. The Redevelopment Authority specifications were read. It was the concensus that in future these be reviewed by Dr. Tinkcom and Mrs. Maurer. DEMOLITION. 1026 Waverly. It was approved that the application for a demolition permit be refused. PLAQUES 257 S. Fourth Street. Yes. 305 S. 3d St. Yes, when photographs showing completed work is at hand. 907, 909 Clinton Street. Yes for 907. When shutters to match 907 have been hung at 909, a plaque will be authorized. 237 S. Camac Street. Referred to Stated Meeting.
