Moak, Research Historian Unless otherwise noted, all actions taken herein are the results of motions correctly made, seconded and carried. The Minutes of the Stated Meeting of the Philadelphia Historical Commission held on 7 August 1980 were approved and directed to be filed. The Reports of the Architectural Committee for 20 August 1980 and 17 September 1980, Herbert W. Levy, A.I.A., Architectural Advisor to the Commission. Both reports were approved and directed to be filed with the official copy of the Minutes. The Commission's Vice Chairman commended the members of the Architectural Committee for their generosity in giving so much of their time in support of the work of the Commission. The Committee Meetings which begin at 2:30 P.M. on the third Wednesday of each month continue until late into the afternoon and sometimes, as on 17 September, until well past 5:00 P.M. Special Report of the Architectural Committee for 30 September 1980. The Commission reviewed the Report of the Architectural Committee which concerned the rehabilitation and re-use of Musical Fund Hall and voted to approve the project, in concept, as recommended by the Committee. Reports on Philadelphia Historical Commission Staff Activities for August and September, Richard Tyler, Historian. Both reports were approved and directed to be filed with the official copy of the Minutes. At this time, the Historian announced the appointment of Jefferson Moak to the staff of the Historical Commission. He expressed his special thanks on behalf of the Commission and its staff to Commissioner Brown for his support and guidance in resolving this matter. STATED MEETING 2 2 October 1980 OLD BUSINESS Reading Terminal. The Historian reported to the Commission the refusal of the Reading Company to accept the certification of the Reading Terminal trained and head house, 12th and Market Streets, as recommended by the Committee on Certification and approved by the Commission. Following quite discussion of the issue, it was agreed that the matter be referred back to the Committee on Certification for consideration and a recommendation. NEW BUSINESS Twenty-Five Year Anniversary. In December of 1980, the Philadelphia Historical Commission will celebrate its twenty-fifth year in the City's historic preservation agency. At the suggestion of the staff, the Commission members voted to celebrate the occasion with a small reception. Upon agreement therewith of the Commission, the Architectural Committee, its Committee on Certification and its staff will be invited.
