HISTORICAL VALUES COMMITTEE REPORT September 27, 1960 The Arch Street Business Men's Association requested a plaque for Loxley Court. It was suggested that the Association be encouraged to erect a marker, submitting the text thereof to the Philadelphia Historical Commission for approval and the design of the marker to the Art Commission for its approval, indicating the importance of the court. The Committee was of the opinion, however, that this would not be advisable and countered with the recommendation that the Association purchase a plaque for each of the certified houses in the Court. Five houses in Lombard Street, 1037, 1039, 1041, 1043 and 1045, are recommended for certification. The Committee also recommends the house at the N. E. corner of Juniper and Locust Streets, built by Wilson Eyre, jr., about 1885, be certified. [HANDWRITTEN NOTES: Located in the lower portion of the page, there is handwritten text in cursive script. It reads: "The first two paragraphs 2 d. Nickelet' layout since organized, After one discussion it was agreed all presented that The ratification of the houses Eyre houses on the N.E. corner of Juniper & Locust Street be tabled. When the Guide Book to Philadelphia heading is being prepared by the AIA for its centenary celebration, in April 1961 is completed, the building (apparent illegible word) the descriptions whereas a copy was done between 1850-1900 will be reviewed and considered for certification at that time."]
