Maurer, Executive Assistant to the Chairman Patricia Siemiontkowski, Clerk II SUBMISSIONS 212 South Fourth Street. Hatfield Martin & White, Architects. The proposed fire escape was approved as presented. 925 South Water Street. The architect, Mr. Edward G. Farnum. The Committee regrets that it is the Commission's policy not to permit the change of the building profile and therefore the alteration of the original roof line will not be allowed. It is further recommended that instead of adding a wing at either end of the building a new separate building should be built at the south, at right angles to the existing building, with a connection to it. 319 South Sixth Street. This submission was approved with the recommendation that a molded brick water table which was common to a house of this period be added. (G. W. Kurtz, designer). 427 Spruce Street. This submission was not approved. Because of the conspicuous location and importance of the building the Committee makes the following recommendations: one double-hung window should be designed for each story of the north wall and two double-hung windows for the east wall. The Commission also recommends that an appropriate back doorway be used which could be based on the interior vestibule door. The architect should also consult with the Commission regarding details for the cornice. Another submission will be required with the above recommendations carried out. 121 Pine Street, Carl Massara Architect. This submission was approved (door and shutters only). 635 Pine Street, W. Nelson Anderson Architect. This was reapproved, its use having been authorized by agreement between Mr. Anderson and the new owner, Arnold Levit. 522 Delancey Street. Drawings and photographs are needed before a decision can be made with regard to the submission. The Committee also requests drawings of details, profiles, moldings, etc. Fort Mifflin, Black Smith shop. The repairs to and the stabilizing of the building have been approved. Joshua Fish had been approved; that the present owner had been allowed to use them, but that the drawings had not been followed and work was begun without a permit. A letter was read and the following recommendations made by the Board: 1. removal of water table permitted 2. northern cellar window on Third Street must not be eliminated 3. chimney must not be eliminated 4. flat skylight will be permitted on roof. Plastic bubble will not be allowed. 5. stock windows are approved provided that they have proper stone or marble sills as shown on the drawings and match the adjacent buildings. The Commission looks forward to submissions of profiles of the front door, shutters, cornices, etc. Permit will be approved for interior work only until drawings showing these details are reviewed and approved. PLAQUES 310 South Fourth Street. Approved. 310 S. Smedley Street. Approved. 1207 Rodman Street. Plaque cannot be approved for this property until proper sills and lintels for all windows and entrance door are installed. Stone lintels are to match the adjacent buildings. Shutters should also be hung as indicated by the evidence on the windows. 4002 Pine Street. Approved. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:40 P.M.
