Phil Buckley, Architect, and the owner of 255 Pine Street to present a submission for renovations to the Pine Street building. SUBMISSIONS 608 South Front Street, Arthur Jones, Architect. Although an attempt is being made to preserve and reuse the existing building, Mr. Jones noted that a renovation is not being considered by the present owners at this time. After some discussion concerning the proposed alterations, the Committee agreed to recommend the approval of the submission as presented, with the suggestion that the exterior walls of both 606 and 608 be plastered with a lime stucco mortar. Before its application, a member of the Committee will inspect the stucco for proper color and texture. 255 Pine Street, Phil Buckley, Architect. The architect presented his renovation proposal to the Committee for review. Approval of the plans is recommended subject to the removal of the rear dormer and its replacement with a contemporary structure. A resubmission of the rear dormer design is required. 623 South Hancock Street, Albert Cesanno Co., Inc. Approval of this proposal is recommended. 142 North Second Street, Toby A. Hoffman, Architect. Approval of this submission is recommended with the requirement that the sash on the third floor have three over six lights of glass and that the size of the glass lights be noted on the drawing. The firm will supply the architect with a cornice and door detail. A revised elevation is required for file. ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE 2 20 April 1977 SUBMISSIONS 1917 Spring Garden Street, Hardy Enterprises. The Committee recommends the approval of this restoration proposal with the requirement that the door height be raised up to the transom bar, matching that of the adjoining building. 1924 Mt. Vernon Street, Frank Weise, Architect. Approval of this restoration proposal is recommended. The Committee recommends that this submission be rejected and that the owner be asked to submit an accurately measured elevation showing the proposed changes to the facade. 2041 Wallace Street, Michael Treacy, Contractor. Approval is recommended with the requirement that the brick and scouring of the new facade match that of the original and that the size of the original openings be maintained. 514 Delancey Street (Cypress Street garage). Approval for the con- struction of the garage in accordance with the plans,as presented, is recommended. 10 South Second Street. The owner's request for permission to demolish the existing building above the second floor was taken into con- sideration by the Committee. It is suggested that the owner be asked to stabilize the front wall, if possible, and retain it. REHABILITATION SPECIFICATIONS 808-10 Locust Street, Musical Fund Hall. This specifications, as presented, were reviewed by the Committee and their approval is recommended. The Committee looks forward to receiving a submission of schematics in the near future. 512 Catharine Street. The Committee reviewed and recommended the approval of the Redevelopment Authority specifications for this building. Since this will not be a restoration, the building cannot be eligible for the receipt of a plaque. 259 South 4th Street. The Committee agreed to support the Redevelop- ment Authority in its decision not to require the new owner of 259 South 4th Street to restore the original roofline and lower as called for in the rehabilitation specifications. ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE 3 20 April 1977 PLAQUES Curtis Institute of Music, 231-33-35 South 18th Street. Approval of a "Certified Restored" plaque for the 18th Street buildings is recommended. 921 Spruce Street. The Committee recommends the approval of a "Certified Restored" plaque for this building. 223 St. Marks Square. The Committee recommends that the Commission not issue a plaque to this building since the upper floor windows have been altered and have storm sash.
