SUBMISSIONS 900 Spruce Street, Baker, Rothchild, Harn & Blyth, architects. The Committee recommends the approval of this resubmission as presented by the architect. It was agreed that without structural evidence, a cellar entrance should not be included in the restoration plan. Finally, a member of the Committee will examine the stucco, to be used on the gable wall, for texture and color. 440 Spruce Street, George Willman, architect. The Committee was asked to undertake a preliminary review of Mr. Willman's proposal for the complete restoration of the building situate at the southeast corner of Fifth and Spruce Streets. Mr. Willman presented investigative evidence and his investigation of the insurance surveys, on file in the Commission office, to the Committee with a proposed elevation for all the facades. After some discussion, the Committee agreed to recommend the approval of the architect's preliminary proposal to the Commission. Further investigation of the structure and the submission of working drawings with molding details will be required before a final approval is granted. 2001 Mt. Vernon Street, Lewis Associates, architects. The Committee recommends the approval of this proposal subject to two changes. The Committee agreed to allow the use of a glass roof on the bay window if it follows the line of the window and is installed at the same angles. Finally, the trellis should be confined to the rear bay of the building by eliminating the portion which turns the corner. Maxwell Mansien, 200 W. Tulpehocken Street, F RIDAY architects. The Committee recommends the approval of the owner's request to install a solid panel door rather than a sash door in the front entrance to 1140 Lombard Street. Mr. Bartley reported to the Committee that upon his inspection of the building he found the pale gutter on the roof projecting too high and painted an inappropriate color. Also, the downspout, rather than wrapping around the lower edge of the building, should run straight down the front facade behind the shutters.
