THE MINUTES OF THE ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE MEETING 19 August 1969 Present: Mr. Erling Pedersen, Old Philadelphia Development Corporation Mr. Richmond P. Miller, for the Commission Dr. Margaret B. Tinkcom, Historian Mrs. Charles J. Maurer, Executive Assistant Patricia Siemiontkowski, Secretary (Mr. John Lloyd reviewed the submissions on August 15, 1969 and agreed to consent to Mr. Pedersen's opinion on the matters) SUBMISSIONS 229 Monroe Street, J. G. Klempay, Designer. This submission was approved. Fourth and Cherry Streets, Oriana Corporation. Preliminary approval is given to the general scheme of the proposal. However, details of the windows, doors, and cornices are required. It was also noted that stone sills instead of brick be used. Permission to eliminate the alley between Nos. 135 and 133 North Fourth Street was also granted. 747 South Second Street, Leonard Singer, Architect. The proposal was approved with the recommendation that the windows on the first and second floor have 6/9 sash with 6/6 sash on the third floor. Details of moldings are required. PROBLEMS 304 South Second Street, Hugh Zimmers, Architect. The Commission agreed that the work being done at this location is considered a restoration and not new construction. Revised drawings are requested. 419 South Camac Street. Approval was given to the owner to use the "A" door he requested. 600 Spruce Street. A report was made that demolition of the back building was approved so that the bricks could be used for filling in the present store front. A letter of intent is being sent the Commission stating that the owner will comply with Historical Commission requirements regarding the restoration of the south elevation. (NOT NOT ALLOWED. T.S.C.) PLAQUES 323 South Camac Street. Approved. 1135 Waverly Street. Approval suspended until Mr. Lloyd has seen it and rendered an opinion. 324 Lombard Street. S The same. 122 West Penn Street.
