MINUTES OF THE ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE MEETING 26 January 1967 Present: Mr. George K. Trautwein, Chairman Mr. Erling H. Pedersen, Old Philadelphia Development Corporation Mr. John F. Lloyd, Redevelopment Authority came in on Friday morning to review the drawings and concurred with the opinions of the above members of the Architectural Committee Mr. Miller called to say a conflict prevented his attendance. Dr. Tinkcom was in Cleveland at the Annual Meeting of the Society of Architectural Historians Mrs. Charles J. Maurer, Secretary SUBMISSIONS 427 Spruce Street. Approved after long discussion on the doorway. 616 Spruce Street. Approved with the recommendation that louvered shutters be used at the second third floor windows, similar to those at 618 Spruce, and that it be in all particulars, similar to 618 in treatment. 735 Spruce Street. Approved 237 S. Quince Street. Approved 1015 Waverly Street. Approved. This was a second submission. Good drawing. 1026-28 Waverly Street. It was resolved that a latter to the architect shall state that the Commission thinks the drawing for the new structure to replace the original building, for which reluctant approval to demolish was given, is so inadequate that it is difficult to judge it, but it appears that if this proposal were to be used, it will destroy whatever values remain to the ten hundred block of Waverly Street. 320 S. Fourth Street. It was determined that the Historical Commission shall comment only on the certified structure, not on additions proposed for it. It is, therefore, recommended that the one large window on the south facade be related in size and treatment to windows on the street facade and that it have shutters and glass size identical to those front windows.
