Magaziner, A.I.A., Chairman, Architectural Advisor to the Commission Mr. Erling H. Pedersen, A.I.A., Old Philadelphia Development Corporatio Dr. F. Otto Hass, Chairman of the Commission Mr. Louis Kremer, Architect, Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority Dr. Margaret B. Tinkcom, Historian Mrs. Charles J. SUBMISSIONS 532 Delancey Street, Eugene S. Shenkman, Contractor. Approved. 835 South Second Street, William Leatherbee, Architect. The committee considered the owner's request to install a square transom over the front door opening in place of a fan light as shown in the archi- tect's plan and to allow the contractor to install a six panel stock door in the opening. It was agreed that the arch head opening must be kept as per the architect's drawing, although a stock door and stock moldings for the door frame could be allowed. If necessary, a plain glass transom will be permitted temporarily. 700 South Front Street, L. L. Leibowitz, A.I.A. The door on the first floor Bainbridge Street elevation must be kept higher and a transom should be placed over it to keep this opening in proportion with the rest of the building. The Commission will supply Mr. Leib- owitz with a detail for a box window frame and went ease. Steps to be wider and return to building at both ends. (12 inches wider side and front) 314 South Tenth Street, John Dickey, A.I.A. Approved subject to the change in the dormer sash. PROBLEMS 321 South Sixth Street. A letter from the architect, Adolph DeRoy Mark, was read attesting to the dangerous condition of the building and recommending its complete demolition or, at least, the demolition of the front portion of the house. It was the consensus of the Commit- tee that if the building must go, indeed, he demolished, the Philadelphia Historical Commission should review plans for the new structure to be built on this site. (The architect would be given the choice of rebuilding the front as per an earlier drawing (April, 1970) approved by this Commission or constructing an entirely new contemporary structure.) Meanwhile, the Architectural Committee proposes that the matter be referred to the Philadelphia Historical Commission with the request that Commissioner Costello be
