MINUTES OF THE ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE MEETING 18 November 1965 Present were: Mr. George K. Trautwein, Chairman Mr. Richman P. Miller Mr. John F. Lloyd, Redevelopment Authority Mr. Erling H. Pedersen, Old Philadelphia Development Corp. Mrs. Charles J. Maurer, Secretary SUBMISSIONS 820 South Third Street. Approved. Glass sizes to conform to the period. 831 South Third Street. Approved 257 Queen Street. Approved 259 Queen Street. Approved. It was recommended that glass sizes conform with the period, in this and its twin, 257 Queen Street. 611 to 629 Lombard Street. Architect is to be complimented for a good presentation. Submission is approved with recommendation that shutters be designed only for the first story. The Commission looks forward to final drawings. 333 South Sixth Street. Preliminary drawing is approved. Shutters to be designed for the first and second story, not for the third. Is the dormer drawn to scale? 243 Delancey Street. Revised drawing is approved. 236 South Third Street. Approved. Shutters to be hung where pintels exist. The Commission looks forward to the working drawings. Demolitions Pending 336 South Third Street. It was noted that the Redevelopment Authority has had a letter from the Chairman of the Commission allowing this (reluctantly) with two recommendations: Glazed headers to be made available to restorer of 334 S. 2nd; the exposed wall of 334 to be correctly braced to break the chain reaction existing. 31 S. 7th Street, Edison Hotel. It was noted that application for a demolition permit from the Redevelopment Authority will shortly be forthcoming. No action QUERIES AND PROPOSALS 249 South 12th Street. The present store front may be altered to resemble that of 450 Spruce Street for the life time of the present business. Stone steps firmly recommended. 321 Delancey - Stucco permitted, with the horse, [?] will [?]. As agreed 320 Lombard Street. It was recommended that all the stucco be removed. [?] report Mr. Lloyd will inspect the brick and make a judgment on whether stucco may be applied and what kind. 242 Delancey Street. No jurisdiction on the part of the Historical Commission PLAQUES 3240 School House Lane. Application approved 534 Cypress Street. Application approved with reservations.
