ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE 2 20 February 1973 SUBMISSIONS 151 North Fourth Street, P. Richard Franks, A.I.A. At the request of Mr. Russell Hilner, architect for the Redevelopment Authority, the Committee granted preliminary approval for the restoration of this certified building. It was recommended that the architect come into the Historical Commission office for help in planning this structure's restoration. It was noted that both window and door on the first floor should be lengthened and that a three light transom is needed above the door. If the chimney is to be rebuilt, the position of the door at both old and new elevations must be verified. A full cable must encomass the front portion of the house. Before this Committee can recommend final approval of this project, accurate measured drawings must be submitted with detail of all moldings. Mr. Franks and the staff of the Historical Commission will be glad to assist the architect in preparing his submission. PROBLEMS 1314 Addison Street. The Architectural Committee was asked to legalize the roughcasting of this historically certified building drop without a building permit. The architects noted that the facade was being build at too steep angle and recommended that the wall be examined for breaks or any evidence of bulging on the interior. The application for a building permit will be approved with a warning to the owner that he must obtain this Board's approval for any alterations to a certified building. DEMOLITIONS 124 South Twelfth Street, New Century Club. The Committee recommended that the Board ask for a conference with the proposed developer of this site before considering any request for the structure's demolition. 607-09 Pine Street. The Old Philadelphia Development Corporation's request to the Redevelopment Authority for hearing that these two buildings be razed for demolition was considered and the Committee agreed not to oppose it since both buildings proved to be unmarketable.
