MINUTES OF THE ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE MEETING 21 April, 1966 Present were: Mr. George K. Trautwein, Chairman Mr. Richmond P. Miller Mr. John F. Lloyd for the Redevelopment Authority Mr. Erling H. Pedersen for Old Philadelphia Development Corp. Dr. Margaret B. Tinkcom, Historian Mrs. Charles J. Maurer, Secretary SUBMISSIONS 312 Lombard Street. Approved with the comment to watch the size of window glass, as muntins shown are too wide. 610 Spruce Street. A preliminary drawing. The present door appears to be original with a later glass panel. Careful drawing, with accurate measurements and full details of sash and shutters is required. 742 South Front Street. Approved as a rehabilitation. No plaque will be authorised for this work. 1015 Waverly Street. Recommendations are on the house itself, not on the proposed fence enclosing the adjoining lot. Stone lintel at the cellar window is not appropriate. A wooden one is recommended. All other details are approved. Progress Reports 266 South 9th Street. It was stated that the owner's attorney asked the Historical Commission to inspect this building before the contractor be paid for the work in progress. It is recommended that the attorney be informed that Redevelopment Authority will inspect for both agencies, as the Commission is not equipped with sufficient staff for this work. In future, payment of contractors should not be tied to Commission approval of work done. 321 South 4th Street. A letter to the architect shall thank him for his revised drawing of the tall window, showing its inside shutters and pocket. PLAQUES REQUESTED 709 Pine Street. Plaque approved. 227 Delancey Street. As requested in the letter, a certificate may be issued and the accompanying letter shall state that if the present first floor shutters should be replaced by those of a correct style with proper moldings for the period, a request for a plaque will be reviewed.
