THE MINUTES of the Stated Meeting held on 7 May 1981 were approved and directed to be filed. THE REPORT of the Architectural Committee for 20 May 1981, Herbert W. Levy, A.I.A., Chairman, was reviewed by the Commission. Following a brief discussion of two items, the report was approved and directed to be filed with the official copy of the Minutes. THE REPORT on Philadelphia Historical Commission Staff Activities for the month of May, Richard Tyler, Historian. Following some discussion of the staff's work for the Office of Housing and Community Development and the planned exhibit on historic preservation scheduled for March-April 1982, the report was approved and directed to be filed with the official copy of the Minutes. OLD BUSINESS Certifications. The Historian reported to the Commission the receipt of a letter from University City Associates, Inc. refusing certification of the Philadelphia Divinity School at 4201-4209 Spruce Street. Before taking any action, the Commission agreed to refer the matter back to the Committee on Certification for its recommendation. The Commission agreed also to withhold, for a time, the certification of 999 E. Haines Street as requested by the owner pending his further consideration of the matter. The Commission further directed the staff to contact the owner and to attempt to explain the implications of local certification and to answer any questions regarding all benefits and restrictions. STATED MEETING 2 4 June 1981 NEW BUSINESS July Stated Meeting of the Philadelphia Historical Commission. The members agreed to the cancellation of the July Stated Meeting of the Commission.
