Moak, Executive Secretary Unless otherwise noted, all actions taken herein are the results of motions correctly made, seconded and carried. THE MINUTES of the 266th Stated Meeting of the Philadelphia Historical Commission, 6 October 1982, were reviewed, approved and directed to be filed. THE REPORT of the Architectural Committee for 20 October 1982, Herbert W. Levy, A.I.A., Chairman, Architectural Advisor to the Commission. Mr. Levy asked that the report be amended by substituting the word "adjusted" for the word "assumed" in the minute regarding the property 311 Fitzwater Street. Following some discussion, a motion was made to accept the Report of the Architectural Committee for 20 October 1932 except for the items relating to the properties 1120 Spruce Street and 309 South Street. Action on these two matters was tabled pending the receipt of additional information. THE REPORT of the Committee on Certification for 14 September 1982, Edward Pinkowski, Chairman. Each of the following buildings was reviewed individually and approved for certification: STATED MEETING 2 4 November 1982 2000 Mt. Vernon Street: The Robinson House 1707-1709 Arch Street: The Philadelphia Tract Society, Methodist Church Building 1632-1636 W. Diamond Street: Bell Telephone Company, Diamond Street Exchange 2600 N. Lawrence Street: St. Christopher's Hospital for Children 8238-8240 Ridge Avenue: Thomas Shepard's General Store 1917 Walnut Street: The Wanamaker-Foerderer House 1928 Pine Street: The McKean-Moore House 4624-4642 Walnut Street & 201-213 South 47th Street: Breslyn Apartments 216 North 33rd Street, a.k.a., 3300 Powelton Avenue: The Frederick A. Poth Residence The Commission also voted to ratify the certification of 245-247 South 17th Street. Mr. Mogensen opposes strenuously the ratification of 245-247 South 17th Street owing to the deteriorated and mutilated condition of the building. He also expressed his concern over there having been no on-site inspection of the building by the members of the Committee to determine the present condition of the structure and the extent of damage caused by exposure to weather and poor workmanship. Mr. Mogensen also voted against the certification of 2000 Mt. Vernon Street and 1707-1709 Arch Street. Mr. Taxin abstained from voting on the latter. THE REPORT on Philadelphia Historical Commission Staff Activities for the month of October, Richard Tyler, Historian. The Historian's report was approved and directed to be filed with the official copy of the minutes. NEW BUSINESS Harry A. Batten Memorial Fund - Proposed Expenditures. The Commission, at the request of the Historian, approved the expenditure of funds to cover the cost of camera repair and bookbinding. The estimated cost for both totals approximately $200.00. Mr. Taxin generously donated $100.00 to the Batten fund toward the cost estimated for repair of the Commission's camera; Mr. McCloskey contributed another $10.00.
