SUBMISSIONS 516 Spruce Street. It was recommended that the front steps be made to face outward, alligned with the steps of 518, but that the rail be omitted. It was also recommended that the return of the first riser be omitted, and the entrance to the cellarway. The Commission will approve the submission with these modifications. Mr. Lloyd stated that it may be he can find a set of steps for the owner, that might more nearly match the steps of the twin house, 518. He would try. 238 South Fourth Street. It was recommended that the submission of doorway details be approved. 227 Pine Street. It was recommended that a typical 19th century cast iron stair rail be substituted for the inappropriate wrought iron rail designed by the architect, which the Commission Committee thought too early for the 1844 house. It was further recommended that slat shutters be installed wherever pintels are present. Otherwise the submission could be approved. 232 Delancey Street. Drawing of door and doorway details with matching shutters, was recommended for the Commission's approval. 306 Delancey Street. It was recommended that proposed alterations be approved on basis of the submitted drawing, except that nine over nine panes be used instead of six over six, since this is a pre-Revolutionary building. Stafford's Tavern. The drawing was referred to Mr. Peterson, to study the brick corbels, as the rest of the Committee questioned the authenticity of this detail. 314 Lombard. It was recommended that a drawing be submitted to illustrate the proposed reduction of the mansard roof to the original line, and the dormer window 511 Cypress Street. It was recommended that drawings be submitted showing the present read addition to be demolished and the new one that would replace it. It was agreed that the letter received from Mr. Curtis, in reply to one sent him some time ago, does not answer the question about his front door and the way he has restored it.
