THE MINUTES of the 282nd Stated Meeting of the Philadelphia Historical Commission held on 5 July 1984 were reviewed, approved and directed to be filed. THE REPORT of the Architectural Committee for 18 July 1984, Herbert W. Levy, A.I.A., Chairman, Architectural Advisor to the Commission. The Historical Commission voted to ratify its prior approval (by telephone poll in early August) of the 18 July 1984 Report of the Architectural Committee. THE REPORT of the Architectural Committee for 15 August 1984, Herbert W. Levy, A.I.A., Chairman, Architectural Advisor to the Commission. The 15 August 1984 report was reviewed, approved and directed to be filed with the official copy of the Minutes. THE REPORT on Philadelphia Historical Commission Staff Activities for August, 1984, Richard Tyler, Historian. The Historian elaborated briefly on the status of the McCrea houses, the Frankford Arsenal, the Provident Bank at 6th and Spring Garden Streets and the Lit Brothers Department Store complex. Following some discussion, the Commission approved the Historian's Report for August and directed that it be filed with the official copy of the Minutes. NEW BUSINESS STATED MEETING 2 6 September 1984 NEWLY Designated National Register Historic Districts. Mrs. Klein advised the Commission of the recent entry of two districts on the National Register of Historic Places. These are the East Center City Commercial District and the Garden Court District in West Philadelphia. Mrs. Klein asked that the staff review the inventories for these districts and extract from them those buildings which may be eligible for local certification.
