MINUTES OF THE ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE MEETING held on 21 July, 1966 Present: Mr. George K. Trautwein, Chairman Mr. Erling H. Pedersen, for Old Philadelphia Development Corp. Dr. Margaret B. Tinkcom, Historian Mrs. Charles J. Maurer, Secretary NOTE: Mr. John F. Lloyd, Redevelopment Authority, reviewed drawings on 25 July. His comments are incorporated in these Minutes. SUBMISSIONS 133 Pine Street. A preliminary drawing. Noted that the dormer window is original and must be fully repaired. The front steps require a railing. Shutters indicated are not correct; these and the door should have a 19th century molding. Survey calls for a flat top pediment &c. The Commission will give assistance for another submission. 224 Delancey Street. This was approved, but with the strong recommendation that the fourth floor be removed to conform with L&I regulations. 331 South Third Street. Shutters and blinds are needed where hardware exists. The dormer window should be fully repaired with reeding to match the original. Siding to be diagonal to follow the slope of the roof and muntons should be introduced in the transom, the glass to be in three parts. 431 Spruce Street, a twin to 429. Restoration details must follow closely those formerly approved for 429. It is approved that the cellar entrance may be closed. Detailed drawing of the frontispiece is required. Work may proceed in the meantime. 438 Spruce Street. This was approved. 511 South Second Street. This was approved with the comment that shutters are required for the second story windows, main facade. 609-611 Lombard Street. This was approved. 321 South Fourth Street. Design for ironwork on the side balcony was approved. 1110 Pine Street. It was approved that the glass size of the proposed store window be the same size as that now in the windows of the second story. PLAQUES REQUESTED 124 South Twelfth Street. Approved 312 Cypress Street. Approved 517 Pine Street. Approved 320 Lombard Street. Mr. Lloyd is to give his approval before the Commission can determine whether or not a plaque is warranted.
