MINUTES OF THE ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE MEETING 19 July 1968 Present: Mr. John F. Lloyd for the Redevelopment Authority Dr. Margaret B. Tinkcom, Historian Mrs. Charles J. Maurer, Secretary SUBMISSIONS 225 S. 8th Street. This was approved with the query: Is the garage a brick structure? If so, then why the stucco? 752. S. Front Street. This was approved. 434 Lombard Street. One large window, with a stone sill and shutters, to be centered in the wall of the first story is required. The shutters shall match the door panels; profiles of the moldings are necessary. The store door on the ground level must be elim- inated and another means of entrance found. The stone water table to match 432 must be replaced. Another submission is expected. 315 S. American Street. This is approved with commendation. 520 Delancey Street. This is approved with a request that details of all moldings be provided for review. The work may proceed at once. 419 S. Camac Street. This is approved with the requirement that a conven- tional window, correct in scale and proportion and having shutters, be used in place of the archhead window as drawn. #1 Bell's Court. It is approved reluctantly that the window be made a door leading into the proposed garden. Approval is given because the six foot masonry wall will partly screen it. 1412-14 Pine Street. Interior proposals are approved. The commission looks forward to a complete restoration of the exterior in due time. RESUBMISSIONS 770-772 S. Front & Clymer Court. This is approved. 1121 Spruce Street. The elevation requires further study. The door and fan light must match the original ones existing at 1223 Sprude. Shutters are to be hung, the first floor ones matching the moldings of the door; details of these must be submitted. Louvered shutters are appropriate for the upper windows. 225-227 Spruce Street. The sketch submitted is not approved. The Com- mission requires a drawing showing the entire elevation. It is suggested that the architect, John Bower, whose submission was approved, be consulted.
