HISTORICAL VALUES COMMITTEE REPORT January 27, 1970 Present: Dr. Roy Franklin Nichols, Chairman and Dr. Margaret B. Tinkcom, Historian The Historical Values Committee recommended for certification the house on West Tulpehocken Street traditionally known as the Queen Isabella House. Although the tradition is almost certainly unfounded, the house is a fine example of the mid-nineteenth century cottage style and should be preserved for that reason. The Committee declines to recommend the certification of 423 North American Street at this time. Although the house is an ancient one, it is in an area designed for total clearance and its certification would seem to serve no useful purpose. Respectfully submitted, Dr. Margaret B.
