Madam President, it's a pleasure to be here, and to all the members of City Council, this is a most historic moment for us. The protocol is that the Council President signs first. We'll you what the bill is, and then she'll sign, I'll sign. We should, based on the number of bills we have, have a pen for everyone, and we will give them to the members as soon as we're done. This is Bill No. 080022. Mayor Nutter

Madam President, I know you're still in session, but just as we're sitting here, I just wanted to say thank you again to the Council President, to the leadership here in City Council, to all of the members, and thank my own staff, which is rather extensive, but certainly our Finance Director, Rob Dubow, our Budget Director, Steve Agostini, our Legislative Director, Julia Chapman, and our Chief of Staff, Clay Armbrister, all the members of the Administration, the department heads, everyone throughout the Mayor's Office. This has been a tremendous opportunity for us to work together. I appreciate all of the concerns, all of the issues that have been raised. I think the budget going in is one thing. budget coming out is another thing. And this is an improved budget from where we started back in February, and that comes as a result of many of the issues and concerns that were raised by City Council. I think we have a budget that represents the interests of the citizens of this city, makes smart investments. We've made some tough choices, but we are sustaining the future of this city, and I want to say thank you to each and every one of you. This has been a tremendous experience, and I appreciate all of the cooperation and support that we have received. Philadelphia is better because of the great work that you have done right here. Thank you so much. (Applause.)

Council President Verna

Thank you, Mr. Mayor. (Applause.)

Council President Verna

Are there any speeches on the part of the minority? (No response.)

Council President Verna

Any speeches on the part of the majority? (No response.)

Council President Verna

Seeing none -- and I also would like to thank the members of Council for working so hard on the budget. I think each of you contributed a great deal to the success of what we were able to accomplish, and I too want to thank you. At this time, the Chair recognizes Councilman Clarke for a motion to adjourn.

Councilman Clarke

Thank you.

Council President Verna

We're getting there, Darrell.

Councilman Clarke
