Councilman Rizzo

Let me see. The hydrants, Wissahickon Avenue. I guess I hit it all that I had an interest in. Thank you, Madam Chair.

Council President Verna

You're welcome. Commissioner, with the list that was just circulated to us, can you just explain the list, if you will? Like on the first page, I assume that's the first district. I don't know what the 10th means. COMMISSIONER BRUNWASSER: I don't think we were -- we didn't break this down by district.

Council President Verna

10th at Johnston and Bigler, I assume? COMMISSIONER BRUNWASSER: Yes. 10th Street, Johnston, Bigler, yes.

Council President Verna

Is this for new water mains? What is this for? What is this schedule?

Councilman Rizzo

I just wanted to know, if I could, the timing. I understand the Commissioner said that the 2208 3/30/05 - Whole - Budget Wissahickon Avenue job has not gone out for bid, but when do you anticipate it going out for bid and when would you think the work would begin and end? COMMISSIONER BRUNWASSER: I believe that the Wissahickon work will probably be out for bid by July and --

Councilman Rizzo

So what are you talking, a few months to get the bid back? COMMISSIONER BRUNWASSER: Yeah. I think we get -- we start to talk to -- the plans are reviewed by the contractor and then we figure out when he can actually start to dig.

Councilman Rizzo

So also you should also is this a better summer job, winter job. So you're talking that we could be September, October, November, like going into the end of the year? COMMISSIONER BRUNWASSER: Probably October, November most likely.

Councilman Rizzo

But please keep that in consideration also, whether summer would be a better time versus winter. 2209 3/30/05 - Whole - Budget COMMISSIONER BRUNWASSER: Sure. Sure.

Councilman Rizzo

Thank you. I'm sorry I interrupted. COMMISSIONER BRUNWASSER: That's fine. I think there's a code to this report. Those codes that begin 20, with a two, those are water jobs. And those codes that begin 40, those are sewer jobs.

Council President Verna

So it's -- COMMISSIONER BRUNWASSER: If desired, we can try to crank this out by councilmanic district. The councilmanic district is identified, but it's not sorted by that.

Council President Verna

That's fine. I think for the first number of pages, it's the First Councilmanic district. All right. Does anyone have any other questions or comments? (No response.)

Council President Verna

2210 3/30/05 - Whole - Budget Commissioner, regarding the Residual Fund, I couldn't tell you today whether I'm for or against that. I don't think you were able to provide us any information whatsoever that would lead me to believe that this is the direction we should be going. So I'm going to suggest that, with many questions that were unanswered, that you certainly look into this issue and we will call you back at a later date so that we could all make a very good judgment in our own minds. And, again, the question about the surety bond, how would that be paid for. So I think you know all of the questions and I'm sure you know all of the answers. You're not sharing them with us today, but at a later date, we hope to have you back. Okay. Thank you very much. This Committee will stand in recess until Tuesday, April the 6th at 10 o'clock. Thank you. (Committee of the Whole adjourned at 3:30 p.m.) - - - 2211 I N D E X WITNESS: Licenses & Inspections Robert D.
