Council President Verna

Would everybody please remain? Jim, I need you for this one. We are now going to consider the Committee on Fiscal Stability and Intergovernmental Cooperation regarding Resolution 010024. Mr. Dubow, do you have to be recognized on this resolution?

Council President Verna

But there are technical amendments, are there not?

Council President Verna

Does anyone wish to be recognized on this issue? Seeing none, this will conclude our public hearing. We will now go into our public meeting, and the Chair recognizes Councilman Kenney Regarding Resolution No. 010024.

Councilman Kenney

Madam Chair, I move that Resolution No. 010024 be approved. (Duly seconded.)

Councilman Nutter

Do we have amendments? 3 3/14/01 - COMM OF FISCAL STABILITY - RES. 010024

Council President Verna

No, just technical. It has been moved and seconded that Resolution No. 010024 be reported out of committee with a favorable recommendation. All in favor will signify by saying aye. MEMBERS: Aye.

Council President Verna

Those opposed? (No response.)

Council President Verna

The ayes have it, and the motion carries. Amen. Thank you all very much.

Councilman Nutter

Madam Chair?

Council President Verna

Sir.

Councilman Nutter

Thank you. Madam Chair, I did want to say in a public way --

Council President Verna

Excuse me, Councilmen.

Councilman Nutter

I did want to say just for the record, this has been a pretty interesting budget season. There has been a lot of things back and forth. We have had some -- we spent a lot of time working on this, and just for the record, to clear up anything that happened during 4 3/14/01 - COMM OF FISCAL STABILITY - RES. 010024 the course of the budget season, there are some folks over in the budget bureau who don't necessarily understand the nature of the contact and exchange between myself and the budget director, but I would like to commend him for his performance and level of service during this particular budget season. I think Mr. Dubow has done a great job, but we also know as good as he may be, he doesn't do it all by himself, and there have been a couple of people I think who also deserve a fair amount of recognition. The only two that I think I know are Peggy VanBell and Sharon Kirschenbaum, who have the misfortune -- I'm sorry; who have the fortune of working with Mr. Dubow and trying to keep him straight, but they also work with our own Joan DePaul in terms of the questions -- I ask a couple questions from time to time -- and many others, and they actually get us responses in a timely fashion. I just wanted to say thank you.

Council President Verna

And I think we would all echo those remarks. Mr. Dubow, you have been absolutely wonderful to work with and we certainly appreciate it. I think you have made our 5 3/14/01 - COMM OF FISCAL STABILITY - RES. 010024 lives a little easier. Thank you. (Applause.)
