Thank you very Stated Meeting September 26, 2019 much, Council President. I just wanted to reflect back. I was looking at some photographs and I saw one from 2014 and it reminded me of all the work that was done in dealing with the SRC, and it reminded me those long hours, those many hearings that Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell held night after night in the community, going into the late evenings, and all of that work really led to what was ultimately the return of local control. And I really wanted to just say that how kind she was, how thoughtful she was, how generous she was with all of us, especially myself as a new Councilperson, always patient, always inclusive, and I really learned a lot just being at her side as she handled so many, so many people, and I just remember that and wanted to thank her for what she did for our public schools.
