We're going to look at our schedule for this afternoon.
Number five, MI 2024-005-72752, 4028 Westminster Avenue.
Mr. Knockamson, please.
There's a request for continuance on his case, Mr. Goldberg.
I know.
I know.
Thank you.
Jeff, this is Jason Hand. I will be your co-host for this session. Mr. Goldberg has been allowed
to speak. Mr. Nockamson is here. Mr. Nockamson, on case number 5, MI 2024-005-752-4028,
Westminster Avenue, we have a request for continuance from the Belmont Alliance Civic
Association. Is there anyone from the RCO
president in the audience?
On chair, I have Cordelia
Baffik with their hand raised. I will allow them
to speak at this time.
I believe Ms. Baffik
is the
block captain. I don't know
if she's also representing the RCO, but I know
she's the block captain.
Hi. Could you please
state your name and spell for the court stenographer?
Hi, sir. I'll get to you in a minute. Cordelia Baffick. Cordelia Baffick. C-O-R-D-E-L-I-A-B-A-F-F-I-C.
All right. I also believe that the chair of the RCO is also present in this meeting, Mr. Nassier.
Just for do you swear or affirm to tell the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth?
Yes, sir. All right. I'm going to start with Mr.
Nockmson. Mr. Nockmson, could you state your name, please, and spell for this stenographer?
Alan Nockmson, A-L-A-N, last name Nockmson, N-O-C-H-U-M-S-O-N.
Do you swear or affirm to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?
The Belmont Alliance Civic Association is requesting a continuance on your case.
So we're going to object to that.
We filed our appeal on before September of 2024.
Due to the unfortunate passing of Betty Ferguson, we voluntarily delayed the last hearing, and it took some time for the RCO to schedule a community meeting, which is fair.
But we're already in March. It's over six months since the last time since we filed the zoning appeal.
I think all of the issues were fleshed out in the community meeting. Most of them are non-zoning with regards to this matter.
and we can address them at the community at this hearing and if the board feels so inclined
to hold it under advisement so be it but i think we can really address most of those issues at this
hearing all right miss baffigan yes sir who's here who's what is the name of the um head of the rco
mr nasir is it's here as well is he is he with you or is he on
He is virtually on another location, but he is connected, if I understand correctly.
I do see. Nasir N?
That's correct.
Okay, they have been allowed to speak.
Sir, could you please state your name and spell for the course sonographer?
Yes, good afternoon, everyone.
My name is Nasir Nordin.
First name is N-A-S-I-R, last name is spelled N-U-R-I-D-D-I-N.
And I'm the current chair of Belmont Alliance Civic Association.
You swear or affirm to tell the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth?
Could you give us your position on this, please?
Well, reasonably, we ask for a continuation primarily because of some significant safety hazards
that have not been addressed that we felt could and should have been addressed
and have gone longstanding for the past several months plus.
And the community did have an opportunity to share these issues.
We did have some photographs that were recent the day of
that illustrated what those concerns were and are.
And that is primarily the reason why we asked for a little bit more time,
just so Mr. Malik, who's the property owner,
can do what he needs to do to correct these issues.
and at least not pose any safety hazards
to the neighbors or to the community at large.
Thank you.
Mr. Knuckles.
Yes, Mr. Chair, I think our presentation
will show that we addressed almost all those issues.
There's one issue remaining that I'll have Mr. Boyd
to testify to that he's in the process of completing.
At the very least, let us present,
hold it under advisement,
give us an opportunity to show that last item
give us an opportunity to show that last item that we completed that item, supplement the record,
that we completed that item,
supplement.
and then the board can vote. And this year what we're going to do is we're going to go on with
the case, we'll evaluate as we go through the case whether or not we vote today, but we will hear the
case, and that will probably be in about a half hour from now. Okay, sir? Thank you. Thank you.
