Council President Verna

Good morning, everyone. This the continued public hearing of the Committee of the Whole regarding Resolution Nos. 010020, 010021, 010022 and 010023. Do we have anyone to testify on these resolutions this morning? Do we have anyone who wishes to make comment? The Chair recognizes Councilman DiCicco.

Councilman Di Cicco

Good morning and thank you, Madam President.

Council President Verna

Good morning.

Councilman Di Cicco

Last evening you read into the record some statements concerning the concerns of the community about the possibility of a new information sign that could possibly in the future be installed in the north lot. You described very eloquently the process by which the community would be involved in that process should the Phillies make application to install such a sign. The suggestion was that because myself and my colleague Councilman Kenney didn't make a statement last night that we were not in support of your statement. Nothing can be further from the truth. 3 2/1/01 - COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE You and I share a common boundary along Oregon Avenue which is very close to the Stadium District. And I know Councilman Kenney and I, along with you, attended all the meetings up until the very end, I guess, except for the final weeks of the stadium negotiations. So anyone in that community to suggest that either myself or Councilman Kenney would not be supportive of you certainly doesn't understand our involvement. So for the record, I want you to understand and everyone in the community that may be listening that I do support your statements and would be willing to work with you and, obviously, would work with you going forward should the Phillies decide to erect a sign in that north lot. Thank you, Madam President.

Council President Verna
