Hello, good afternoon. This is Councilman Ortiz, Chairman of the Public Safety Committee on Resolution 010598. Yesterday, we got a phone call from Lynne Abraham's office, the D.A., saying that they have, and they are pursuing, the criminal case and criminal investigation into the death of Jose Santiago that we uncovered and brought forward in our last hearing here. We have a report that has been given to the committee members today, and in order to give the committee members enough time to be able to read and digest the report, the approval of the committee report will be done on Tuesday at 10 o'clock in the morning, at which time, we will discuss it. And I would hope that the City Administration is listening and begins to take care and begins to fix the problems that we have uncovered over the last year and a half, and I hope also the Administration begins to understand that the citizens have a right to know -- when taxpayers' money is being spent that the citizens have a right to know and that that money is being 3 6/5/02 RECESSED PUB.
