Bill No. 000117, an ordinance amending Section 2 of an ordinance (Bill 13 No. 980617), approved December 15, 1998, entitled "An ordinance authorizing the revision of lines and grades on a portion of City Plan No. 295 by striking from the City Plan and vacating Codorus Road from Hendren Street to Spring Lane and by reserving and placing a right-of-way for drainage purposes and water main purchases within the lines of Codorus Road, from Hendren Street to Spring Lane, under certain terms and conditions" therein.

My name is Paul 4 3/21/00 STREETS & SERVICES - BILL 000117 Lonie, Survey Bureau Manager with the Department of Streets, and the Department of Streets would like to offer the following testimony on Bill No. 5 000117: The purpose of this ordinance is to extend the expiration date of an ordinance 8 approved December 15, 1998. The purpose of that ordinance is to strike and vacate Codorus Road from Hendren Street to Spring Lane from the City Plan so as to remove the street encumbrance from the land. This ordinance is supported by the Department of Streets and is recommended to your committee for favorable action.

My name is Paul Lonie, Survey Bureau Manager, with the Department of Streets, and the Department of Streets would like to offer the following testimony on Bill No. 24 000118: This is not an Administration ordinance 6 3/21/00 STREETS & SERVICES - BILL 000118 but an ordinance requested by Mr. Raymond Daikeler, Executive Vice President of Unique Industries. The purpose of this ordinance is to extend the expiration date of an ordinance 6 approved January 5, 1999. The purpose of that ordinance was to grant the legal authority to close Dilworth Street and Ritner Street to facilitate expansion of a warehouse and to establish secure parking for an increased number of employees. This ordinance is supported by the Department of Streets and is recommended to your committee for favorable action.
Is there another City agency involved in the expansion efforts? And how have they been involved in this?
They've been dealing with the City Council office, who have been helping them out along, and we've been moving along with 7 3/21/00 STREETS & SERVICES - BILL 000118 the process, but I don't know of any --

Jeffrey Brahin,, Esquire, of Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The purpose of this ordinance is to extend the expiration date of an ordinance approved July 24, 1995. The purpose of that ordinance was to strike from the City Plan and vacate Shamokin Street so that the abutting property owners may eradicate the problems with the loitering and littering that exist in the area of their business. My name is Paul Lonie, Survey Bureau Manager with the Department 10 3/21/00 STREETS & SERVICES - BILL 000120 of Streets, and the Department of Streets would like to offer the following testimony on Bill No. 4 000120: This is not an Administration ordinance 6 but an ordinance by Ms. Joanne Phillips, of Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, who represent 12th Street Hotel Associates. The purpose of this ordinance is to extend the expiration date of an ordinance approved January 5, 1999, the purpose of that ordinance was to increase the size of the pull-in lane from the hotel entrance on Market Street and to widen a portion of Clover Street to allow service vehicles to enter at the rear of the hotel. This ordinance is supported by the Department of Streets and is recommended to your committee for favorable action.

Mr. Chairman, before 13 3/21/00 - STREETS & SERVICES PUBLIC MEETING there's a vote, may I note that the purpose of this bill is not to extinguish the name of Richardson Dilworth because of his parking recommendation ago.
As time would prove, he was correct. Fifty years later, there wasn't any residential parking permits in Center City than probably any other community in the City of Philadelphia. So much for being ahead of his time, right?.
