A resolution proposing an amendment to the 6/19/08 - STATED - 2ND READING Philadelphia Home Rule Charter relating to the transfer of the powers and duties of the Fairmount Park Commission to the Department of Recreation.
Madam President, I'd like to move for the adoption of the resolution. (Duly seconded.)
Yes. I'm sorry. I didn't see your light on. Councilman Green.
Thank you, Madam President. I'd like to speak on this resolution and the next bill that's related to it. I am strongly in favor of consolidating the park system and the Recreation Department. However, I would not like to do so without a super majority requirement for the sale or 6/19/08 - STATED - 2ND READING lease of land. For that reason, I will be voting no.
Thank you. Since Resolution No. 080181 is an amendment to the Home Rule Charter, it requires a two-thirds majority. At this time, I would ask the Chief Clerk to please call the roll.
