Good morning, good morning, good morning. This is the continued public hearing on the Committee of Streets and Services. Is there anyone here who wishes to continue to testify on any of the bills that were discussed at the public hearing yesterday in City Council on Streets and Services? (No response.)

Councilman Dicicco

Hearing none, we will now move into the public meeting for the Committee of Streets and Services. The Chair recognizes Councilmember Clarke.

Councilman Clarke

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Mr. Chairman, I'd like to offer an amendment to Bill No. 000166. It reads on , No. 4, locations of newsstands. I would like to add a new section, which would be d., within 50 feet of any property classified in any residential district designated R1 residential or R1-A, residential, as outlined in Section 14-200 of the 3 4/27/00 STREETS, SERVICES - PUBLIC MEETING Philadelphia Code, or any church, chapel, convent, monastery, or other places of worship and adjunct residential dwellings or any property used for the purposes outlined in Section 14-203(1)(c.) in the Philadelphia Code related to professional offices in the home of the practitioner.

It's been properly moved and seconded that an amendment to Bill No. 15 000166 be adopted. All those in favor of the amendment, signify by saying aye. Those opposed? The amendment is approved. There is also an additional amendment to Bill 000166 that was offered by the Streets Department yesterday, and those amendments were read into the record yesterday. Is there a motion on those amendments?

It's been properly moved and seconded that the amendments to Bill No. 4 000166, as read into the record yesterday by the Philadelphia Streets Department, be approved. All those in favor will signify by saying aye. Those opposed? The amendment is approved. Bill No. 000166 will be held for further consideration at a date certain of May 16th, year 2000. We're not certain of the time yet. That bill will be advertised, and the hearing will be heard on that day. (Councilman DiCicco confers off record with staff.)

That hearing will be held on May 16th at 10:30 a.m. Thank you. Bill No. 000121 is being held at the request of the sponsor. The Chair recognizes Councilmember Cohen for a motion on Bill No. 146.
