MINUTES OF THE ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE MEETING 21 November 1968 Present: Mr. John F. Lloyd for the Redevelopment Authority Mr. Erling H. Pederson, for Old Philadelphia Development Corp. Approved with the reminder that pinteles which are in evidence at the third story windows indicate they used for lowered shutters there. Kindly submit profiles of moldings to be used for the doors and shutters. 454 Lombard Street. Approved with the directive that a single window, without sidelights be used. Glass size should be the same as that required for the second story windows, but there should be five panes wide to four panes high. This will match the large window on the side of the structure, except that it will be one rank of panes higher. With panelled shutters added to the front window, the proportion will be in correct scale to the whole facade. 907, 909 Pine Street. Repairs to the cornices, dormer windows and the roofs are approved as outlined in the letter. It is understood that original molding profiles will be copied in every case. The Commission looks forward to complete restoration of these two buildings as soon as possible, meanwhile, it considers the present work as a step in that direction. Pennsylvania Hospital Gate House, 8e Street between Spruce and Pine. The Historical Commission disapproves the proposal to move it north of its present location and advises its demolition instead. Since this is an 1890's structure, it is considerably less interesting than the 18th century wall. This should be wholly preserved. PROBLEM 770-772 S. Front Street and Clymer Court to the rear. It is directed that the coursing of the new fronts to the Clymer Court buildings exactly reproduce that of the original coursee in order that the changes may be precisely where they had been. The flagstone wall must be removed and the facades be rebuilt. It is also directed that any change in the approved plan for any part of any structure in the complex be reported to the Commission and approved, so any change be obtained. It is noted that letters have been received which explain why the fronts of the Clymer Court on the south side have been taken down. DEMOLITIONS 1018, 1020, 1022 E. Moyamensing Street.
