It is recommended that the existing dormer window be rebuild as is, with double hung sash. The same type of window in the attic gable is also recommended, rather than the circular window indicated, as being more compatible with the period of this house. The architect is to be congratulated on his draftsmanship. Details of mouldings are required for the next drawing. Details on both buildings are to be identical. The chimney, common to both buildings, should be restored to match that of 1041. 535 Spruce Street. Nick Chimes, architect. It is recommended that three over three lights, as existing, be used for third story windows. Shutters to the great window should be operative, in panel to enclose whole window. No fixed shutters are permitted. One panel beneath this window is recommended instead of the two shown. Copy of photograph for 706 S. Front Street may be sent to the architect by way of example showing hinged shutters, folding. 5275-77 Germantown Avenue. Letter of explanation from Henry J. Magaziner, the architect, is accepted. The steps may be rebuilt as indicated in his drawing. 227 South 42nd Street. It is recommended that the concrete floor of the side veranda be extended the full length of the present structure that steps be erected at the end nearest the street in the same style as present steps.
