Tinkcom, Historian Mrs. Charles J. Maurer, Secretary SUBMISSIONS 133 Pine Street. Approved, subject to another drawing, with the following recommendations: Dormer window to be correctly repaired; windows at the first floor level to be six over six sash to correspond with second floor windows. Shutters as indicated only on the first floor; second and third to be louvered. Careful doorway details are required. Work may begin upon application for a building permit. Second drawing to be submitted in October. 117 Lombard Street. Approved with commendation. Submission of details on shutters, door &c., required. Shutters must be hung on all floors. 121 Lombard Street. Drawing shows window frames of a design too early for this 1820 house (Survey describes "one window front with eight lights containing 25 lights of glass 10 x 12 outside shutters, sashes single hung) It is recommended that reveal rather than plank front frames be used. This will necessitate a change in glass sizes. Can existing frames be used? Louvered shutters must be hung at the second and third floor windows. 125 Lombard Street. Drawing indicates details for a much earlier structure. A resubmission is required. 127 Lombard Street. Same as the above. Both were erected in 1821. The original survey describes an archhead front door, brick cornice, an arch head dormer. Resubmission required. 332 South Fifth Street. Recommendations include requirement of three over six lights for the third floor; six over six for both second and first floors to reveal frames. Work can begin as soon as these corrections are made. 614 Spruce Street. Approved with commendation. 333 South Sixth Street. It is noted that the frontispiece and shutters are to be installed at a later date. The submission is approved with the recom- mendation that windows on the first floor be similar in size to those on the second and will require the same size glass. It is strongly recommended that the existing frontispiece be retained and repaired. It is described in the 1810 survey as having an arched doorway. When stain on the brick is removed, it may be found that scars indicate that first and second floor windows have been altered. If so, they should be changed to match the size of windows in the adjoining houses. Approval of the drawing is contingent upon advice on this point. 308 South Second Street. It is recommended that the existing brick cornice be retained in this 1820 structure; that no stone lintel be used. A single window for the first floor, with panelled shutters is indicated. Louvered shutters as drawn are incorrect. The rail should be below the meeting rail of the windows. Note: First floor window may have side panels as described in survey for 121 Lombard Street 306 S. Second Street. First presentation with one window and panelled shutters is preferred. It may have side panels such as the Venetian window described in the survey for 121 Lombard Street as this building (and 306) are of comparable age and dimensions. 514 Spruce Street. Approved 307 South Third Street. Approved with the recommendation that there be outside shutters on the second and third floor windows and that the alley door be redesigned to a conventional style prevailing in the period. A complete drawing of the doorway is expected at the next meeting. Meanwhile a building permit may be obtained and the work begun.
