The Minutes of the Stated Meeting of the Philadelphia Historical Commission held on 2 April 1981 were approved and directed to be filed. The Report of the Architectural Committee for 15 April 1981, Herbert W. Levy, A.I.A., Chairman, was reviewed by the Commission and approved subject to two spelling corrections. Mr. Tyler's report was approved and directed to be filed with the official copy of the Minutes. OLD BUSINESS Comly Rich House. The Historian reviewed briefly with the Commission members the issue of the relocation of the Comly Rich House from its original site in Frankford to Old City as proposed by Daniel Green, President of the First Federal Savings and Loan Association. As directed by the Commission at its 2 April 1981 meeting, the Historian sought from the Department of Licenses and Inspections a determination of the kind of permit required for the removal and relocation of the house to Old City. In response to the Historian's query, Commissioner Tate of the Department of Licenses and Inspections reported that removal of the house from its present site at 4276 Orchard Street required a demolition permit. Moreover, re-erection of the building in its new site in Old City would require the acquisition of a building permit as well. Following some discussion of the matter, the Historian recommended to the Commission that a delay of five months be imposed upon the demolition of the house. Mr. Pinkowski presented a motion calling for a five month delay on the approval of Permit Application #29231. This motion was seconded and carried.
