Thank you very much, Mr. Decker. We will now move towards the veto override on Bill No. 130701-AA. We will now reconsider the vote by which Bill No. 130701-AA was passed. Mr. Decker will read the title of the bill.

Chief Clerk

Bill No. 130701-AA, entitled "An ordinance providing for the submission to the qualified electors of the City of Philadelphia of an amendment to The Charter to permit City elected officials to become candidates for nomination or election to public office without first resigning from their City office.

Council President Clarke

Thank you. This bill having been read on two different days was duly approved by Council on January -

Councilman Kenney

Mr. President.

Council President Clarke

I'm sorry. Right now?

Councilman Kenney

When you're finished. Thank you. I'm sorry to interrupt, but I just have to be nostalgic a little bit. I think many of the members who have been here for a long time remember that I had a bill once in here that passed 16 nothing, and it would have passed 17 nothing had the late Councilman Cohen not been in the hospital. I was very happy because it 16 nothing, but Mayor Street at the time, he sent it back disapproved, and on the override effort, I lost 10-6. There are a couple ways you can do this. You can either sign the bill, leave it unsigned and it becomes law, or you veto it, but then you got to work the veto. And I've never seen anybody work a veto like Mayor Street. And I remember looking at Councilman Goode and he said to me, I'm sorry, my phone rang, I shouldn't have answered it. Just my experience here in losing a veto override, we'll see how this one goes. Thanks, Mr. President.

Council President Clarke

Thank you. I'm actually going to leave that alone. I'm not going to comment. I'm extremely tempted. This bill having been read on two different days was duly approved by City Council on January 30th, 2014 and was returned to Council by the Mayor as session of Council. The question is shall Bill No. 130701-AA pass notwithstanding the Mayor's disapproval. Please note that a vote of aye is a vote to override the Mayor's veto and a vote of nay is a vote to sustain the Mayor's veto. Mr. Decker, would you please call the roll now.
