Are there any speeches on the part of the Majority? The Chair recognizes Councilman DiCicco.
Thank you, Madam SECOND-READING - 990252 President. On June 15th, there will be a hearing similar to a hearing that we held this week that involves a new housing development in South Philadelphia that will have an effect on a number of residents whose properties may be taken through eminent domain. And I believe a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned in the caucus room that I would have available some material to members of Council. And I would be willing to do either a one-on-one briefing or I can do something as a body just to give everyone an update as to what has been taking place for the last three years about the taking of these properties. So I will have available or deliver to each Councilmember's office today a copy of a report that I have prepared, and I think some members of Rules Committee received it on Monday or Tuesday of this week. But for those members who have not received a copy of that report, I will have it delivered to your office by the end of the day today. And if any Councilmember would like to SPEECHES speak to me about it before the 14th, I will be available. Thank you.
Thank you. Are there any speeches on the part of Minority? (No response.)
There being none, the Chair recognizes Councilwoman Clark for the purpose of making a motion to adjourn.
Madam President, I move that this session be adjourned until Thursday, June 3, 1999. (Duly seconded.)
Please stay until the adjournment has been approved. It has been moved and properly seconded that Council stand adjourned until June 3rd. Councilwoman Krajewski, do you mind taking your seat a minute, please. (Laughter.)
All those in favor of the adjournment will say aye. It has been so carried. SPEECHES Councilwoman Blackwell? ("Happy Birthday" sung to Councilwoman Krajewski.) (Adjourned at 11:45 a.m.) C E R T I F I C A T E I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing proceedings of the Council of the City of Philadelphia of Thursday, May 27, 1999, were reported fully and accurately by me, and that this is a correct transcript of same.
