Bill No. 090835, an ordinance authorizing the Commissioner of Public Property, on behalf of the City, to execute and deliver to the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority a deed conveying fee simple title to certain parcels of land, with the improvements thereon, located at 928 South 17th Street, 1009 South 17th Street, 1011 South 17th Street, and 1035 South 17th Street, for further conveyance at fair market value, under certain terms and conditions.

DEPUTY COMMISSIONER HERZINS: Good morning, Chairman Clarke and members of the Committee on Public Property and Public Works. My name is John Herzins. I am Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Public Property here today to testify in support of Bill No. 090835. The properties referenced in the bill were part of a request for proposals issued by the Redevelopment Authority. The selected development team, a joint venture between the Ingerman Group and Universal Community Homes, will develop the properties for residential use. The $180,000 proceeds from the sale will be deposited into the General Fund. The Department of Public Property supports this measure and, accordingly, I respectfully ask that City Council approve Bill No. 090835. I am requesting a suspension of the rules so as to allow first reading at 4 12/10/09 - PUBLIC PROPERTY - BILL 090835, etc. the next session of Council. Thank you.
