Good11 afternoon. Please proceed.12 COMMISSIONER SCHLOTTERBECK:13 Good afternoon, Councilman Clarke and14 members of the Public Property and Public15 Works Committee. I'm Joan Schlotterbeck,16 Public Property Commissioner. I'm here17 in support of Bill No. 090263.18 This bill authorizes me on19 behalf -- by the way, did it matter which20 order I took the bills? I'm sorry.21

No. We22 actually -- just for the record,23 Mr. Carter, just read the title of both24 bills, please.25 3 4/23/09 - PUBLIC PROPERTY - BILL 080951, etc.1

Bill No. 080951, an2 ordinance authorizing the Commissioner of3 Public Property, on behalf of the City,4 to accept from the Delaware River Port5 Authority conveyance of title to certain6 parcels of land located in the vicinity7 of 8th and Race Streets and Florist8 Street, between 2nd and 4th Streets,9 under certain terms and conditions; and10 Bill No. 090263, an ordinance11 authorizing the Commissioner of Public12 Property, on behalf of the City, to13 execute and deliver to the Philadelphia14 Authority for Industrial Development a15 deed conveying fee simple title to all or16 part of a certain approximately four-acre17 parcel of land with the buildings and18 improvements thereon located in the19 vicinity of the intersection of Belmont20 Avenue and Monument Road, for further21 conveyance to the Commonwealth of22 Pennsylvania for nominal consideration,23 under certain terms and conditions.24

At this time, I would like7 to summarize and just say that I'm asking8 for a suspension of the rules so as to9 allow for first reading at the next10 Council session.11 If there are any questions,12 we're here to answer them.13

I14 understand one of these bills is to15 support the State Police?16 COMMISSIONER SCHLOTTERBECK:17 That would be this bill, Councilman.18 Yes, their expansion and their support of19 City Police, and this allows them to20 expand the facility.21

I'm here11 to support Bill No. 080951.12 This is the bill -- the13 Delaware River Port Authority is14 conveying back to us parcels. So this is15 another good bill. This is one that16 we're getting back control of property,17 and a piece of the property actually is18 on the Police headquarters building. So19 it's a good thing.20 I'm also asking for a21 suspension of the rules so as to allow22 first reading at the next Council23 session.24 Thank you.25 6 4/23/09 - PUBLIC PROPERTY - BILL 080951, etc.1
