Council President Clarke

This bill having been read on two different days, the question now is shall -- I'm sorry. The Chair recognizes Councilman Goode.

Councilman Goode

Thank you, Mr. President. I will be voting against this bill today just simply as a matter of principle. This is a small triangular piece of land that needs to be improved by SEPTA. It's a simple transfer. At the hearing I asked a simple question, why the term of the lease was 50 years, why did it have to be that long. The Administration never gave me an answer. Part of the reason the Administration never gave me an answer is because the Deputy Mayor for Transportation sits on the SEPTA Board, which is why I voted against her appointment. As we move forward on larger 5/24/12 - STATED - 2ND READING issues concerning SEPTA, there has to be better communication between this legislative body and the executive branch. We can't have them bringing the larger lease agreement to us without better communication. Thank you, Mr. President.

Council President Clarke

Thank you, Councilman. Thank you. Councilman Goode, because this is my bill, I'm going to hold it until you get an answer.

Councilman Goode
