Mr. President, one of them is being held, I understand. That would be a correction. We are holding Bill No. 120485. So the only one for Final Passage Calendar today is 120526.
We're a little sluggish today. I understand. I'm feeling it too, sir. Before considering these resolutions and bills, we will consider public comment as follows: What we have done with our rules, the public comment will be as follows. There will be a podium placed before you. Anyone who is interested in commenting on any bills and resolutions that are on the Final Passage Calendar today, you must be restricted to those. You will have an opportunity of three minutes to speak. We have had to impose a limit because we want to make sure that everybody has an opportunity to speak, and we have had some really lengthy discussions on a lot of bills and resolutions that we've had in the past. When you come to the podium, there will be a green light. The green light means it's your time to speak. Approximately two and a half minutes into your speech, there will be a yellow light, and that yellow light means that you have 30 seconds left. When the red light comes on, that means that your time is up. So we ask you to please acknowledge those particular guidelines relating to the public comment. So I'd like to thank you. At this time, Mr. Decker, do you have the names of anyone interested in testifying today?
There are no speakers on the public comment list, Mr. President.
Pretty lengthy speech for no one to testify. I think I better quit while I'm ahead. Thank you, Mr. Decker. At this time -
I knew I could get somebody. Ma'am, you just have to say what bill -(Witness speaking without microphone.)
I just want to talk about the lack of professionalism that I'm seeing when I come to City Council. I mean professionalism as a taxpayer. I'm being disrespected as a taxpayer and a homeowner. When I come in here and I see Council texting, you're doing everything but what we teach these kids not to do on the street. And I want to know how is it that leaders could continue to operate in a way that's not professional. And y'all are making decisions that are affecting my life.
And I would like for y'all to be attentive when it comes to issues that are impacting people like me who have an invested interest. I work four jobs, and as I said and as I wear it (unintelligible). I wear it, and I will not stand to be treated in such a way when I'm seeing everybody texting that should be tending to things that impact the people here in the City of so-called Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection. Please give me that respect. Now, I might not agree to all the bills that you pass, but please be, I mean, respectful and professional the way that you carry yourselves when you go out 9/13/12 - STATED - 2ND READING here in our communities asking us to vote. Because we going to keep that in mind the next time you come around and want a vote. I do not want to see nobody using no cell phones, like I am not allowed when I do my job. So thank you.
You're welcome, ma'am. Thank you for your comment. Okay. Thank you. We will now consider the resolutions and bills on the Final Passage Calendar. Mr. Decker, would you please read the title of resolution -- we're holding all resolutions. We're holding 485; am I correct?
562. I'm sorry. Thanks. 9/13/12 - STATED - 2ND READING
