Can you zoom out so we can see the whole plan?
Oh, sure.
I'm going to see the layout.
I know it's a little dense and hard to read when it's zoomed out.
just want to see because you've got that sec so the second stairway coming from the from the
second floor is just a it's just going to be used for staff because it goes to the kitchen or how
is that uh so you're eliminating the side door so this is this is a stairway to the second floor
that would be used by customers and this one back here would be used by the staff okay and you're
eliminating that side door, I guess. This one? No, there is a
side door in the existing building, I thought. Yes,
there. We are not that's, that's where you put keeping it.
Yeah, that's part of the kitchen. Yes. Right. So you're
doing the ramp out of that. Okay. With two fully accessible
bathrooms on the first floor. Okay. Yes. Thanks. Thank you.
yes thanks thank you questions
Questions
counsel um yes um i just want to put on the record um we understand about the two-year
rural refusal that it was you did withdraw so that's not a question with regard to us right
now but i'm just putting it on the record you didn't file an appeal though against lni but
we're just noting it for the record that that is not going to be something that we're concerned
about thank you yeah it's incorrect under refusal correct calendar we are we okay with uh the use
should we say the entire building or do you want to how do we it is for the entire building yes yeah
we don't have to mention that okay all right questions or comments from the virtual audience
planning commission sure i'm sorry we have a call-in uh user with the hand raised i've allowed
and speak sure hi uh tiffany green consented to the point break tiffany could you please spell
your name for the stenographer yeah t-i-f-f-a-n-y g-r-e-e-n right do you swear or affirm to tell
the truth the whole truth nothing but the truth yes please proceed tiffany yes directly across the
is the St. Simons Episcopal Church and I was approached by one of the members
they had set up a meeting with the other lawyers and and so I told
them we can do informational only because we were we're not the
coordinating RCO so we did the information only meeting when the
developer owner came in with the other lawyers so the church was pretty well
attended with the minister and the deaconess and um also there's another member she's gonna she's
calling and she only has a landline and she's older so please be patient with her but the
theme is is this um during the meeting that the church and some of the community members were
opposed to it what i'm concerned about is that uh i was able to get in contact with miss jeanette
to another community person she informed me that the deaconess has had surgery and she said that
they really didn't she's going to she can testify to this and that they hadn't really heard anything
about back about the meeting or the public meeting or anything because i guess information was going
to the deaconess at the meeting they were very much opposed to because this property is a half
a block from point breeze avenue we have quite a few open uh a vacant stores on point breeze avenue
and the uh the whole sense of it was why didn't you just go and purchase on point breeze avenue
He wants to put a full sit-down restaurant on the first floor and the second floor,
and also he wants to serve alcohol.
And this area, 22nd Reed, has had quite a bit of new development.
They have very little abandoned homes, a lot of young families with children playing up and down on Reed Street,
and they felt that it was just not conducive for the neighborhood.
It's like really changing the character of the neighborhood.
Also, he did talk about doing Uber Eats and that type of thing.
We were asking how are they going to pick up and deliver, you know, because if you go there after 7 o'clock, this area is very dense and all the parking is really, you know, crowded, along with the church that comes in on Sundays, and also I think they do a Bible study on Wednesdays.
So my concern is that I don't know what happened with the church.
I was wondering if they maybe could put on hold before you vote,
so maybe through Kenyatta's office we can talk with the church,
because also the block captain was there.
I heard she recently had a health issue, too,
and so maybe this is why you don't have any real people testifying
whether they support it or they don't support it.
I just want to say only two residents showed up for the public meeting,
so that does not necessarily constitute a resident's support, you know,
and everybody else was not within just RCO members or community members.
So I'm asking if they maybe can be put on old contact to find out due to the health and illness of certain key people,
you know, before you take a vote on this project, maybe we can find out through Kenyatta's office,
they have Councilman Johnson's office to find out, you know, what is the position of the church,
what's the position of the block captains and stuff like that.
Tiffany, did you see the vote for this?
it says 12 to 0 with the RCO. They have not supplied us with the summary letter. I don't
know why we're not seeing the summary letter and we're not being supplied with the addresses of
the people who vote so we have a real serious concern about the 12. I have not seen that
and we just had a meeting with them to discuss why the summary letter is not being sent out
to other non-coordinating RCOs. I know when I attended the public meeting I asked who was here
I know when I attended the public meeting, I asked who was here from the meeting, and only two people was a doctor who did directly across the street and another member who testified and said they lived within the area. Now, the other people, I don't know who they are and the which comes up. And I know that the deacon is to have surgery and that the block captain has had a health issue.
from the meeting and only two people.
oh if you want mr neck can come on as you can see hopefully she can come on here the landline

thank you chairman and good morning David Vecto with the city planning commission
uh chairman and board members the comprehensive plan recommends no change to the cmx1 neighborhood
commercial mixed uses owning at this location the city rezoned this neighborhood in 1985
in a council supported map change this property has a documented history as a takeout restaurant
dating to at least 1975. the appellant has shown the proposed use would not cause detrimental impacts
beyond what might reasonably be expected therefore the city planning commission recommends the board
grant the requested variance for a sit-down restaurant so number eight mi2026 000
chair i'm sorry to interrupt that caller has made it through and they are now raising their hand

which is located 1400 south 22nd street which would be diagonally from the restaurant
Now, first of all, our church has been over there over 100 years.
I don't approve of it because of the alcohol.
We don't need an alcohol.
And still plenty of seniors in the area.
And the car parking is atrocious.
I have to park on Point Breeze Avenue living at 22nd and Earp.
So that would be worse.
And the traffic, someone is definitely going to be harmed by the traffic.
It'll be flowing from 10 a.m. in the morning.
I think you said until 10.30 p.m.
That's not good.
It's definitely not good for this neighborhood.
So I'm refusing it.
I refuse to raise my hand for it, to have it in our facility.
Thank you very, very much for taking the time.
