And have you operated a daycare before?

no but i've worked at um daycares before and um yeah i haven't operated one but i've worked at

daycares and then how many how many employees do you plan to have on site so myself and

maybe three staff it depends on how many children i'm allotted um but i was thinking anywhere

between one and four um and like i said it's based off of the the children and the ages for

the ratios and then is this room that we're looking at is it in the basement or is it on the

first floor no it's on the first floor where is the front door in relation to this to this room

so do you remember the blue where we saw the variance uh certificate that is the front door

so right here would be the front entrance so we're coming directly into this room that you're

said you have a kitchenette so i'm assuming that means that you don't have um a stove on site

no no so are you going to have your meals delivered by a service yes i want my meals

delivered by a service um i won't be doing any uh cooking in the facility okay

um does the facility take up the whole property no so this is just the first floor um like i said

we don't have all the photos in the first floor commercial space yes yes and then you have access

to the basement i'm assuming yes we do okay what's your plan for the basement the basement i want to

clean out and do uh like a washer and dryer for like soiled items for if the children um

you know make a mess or anything like that so only you and your employees would be allowed

yes have access to it and my basement has a key so it would be closed off children wouldn't be able

to go down into the basement okay other questions uh yes so you've got that one big space you're

not gonna have like classrooms you're not gonna split it up yes i am i am uh like i said uh we

started doing the whole renovation and then once i saw we won't be opening anytime soon i kind of

focus more on this meeting preparing for it and then uh not kind of like staging it but i am going

to cut the classrooms off with dividers okay and what age children are we talking about

so i would like to do from six months to uh kindergarten age pre-k age

okay and um have we do we have all of the fire code um yes i have the strobes the whole nine

okay the hardwired smoke detection system the two means of ingress and egress yes got the

emergency lighting yep oh you can't see it in this photo because it's like a little blurred

But we have like the exit signs because, like I said, the old owner of this building got this certificate of occupancy in 96.

And all of everything was done and updated and renewed like the fire system, the fire and safety system.

OK. And then do you have an outside play area?

Yes, that's also in the photos that are not present. So if you go behind this door, there's the kitchenette, those two bathrooms, and then there's the back door.

Okay. And how large is this area?

It's not really big. It's, I think it's like 80 square, it's 16 by five. I was just looking at my old appraisal. It's enough space for children to come out, not a whole lot.

um my idea with that would just be to just do a small size of children to go out for fresh year

but i really want to do like the parks in the neighborhood for the children to get their outdoor

chairman of board members the comprehensive plan recommends no change to the rsa 5 residential

single family zoning at this location the city rezoned this neighborhood in 2021 in accord with

recommendations and comprehensive plan this property has a documented history as a daycare

center dating to at least the middle 1990s the city planning commission recommends that the

board grant the proposed use variance for a child care center mi 2026 zero zero one one six seven
