Good morning, everyone. This is a Public Hearing of the Committee of the Whole regarding Resolution No. 030634. I would ask Mr. McPherson to please read the title. MR. McPHERSON: Resolution 030634. Resolution nominating Philadelphia residents for appointment by the Mayor to the Police Advisory Commission.
Thank you, Madam President. Madam President, I would like to report that the Special Committee on the Police Advisory Commission has conducted a series of hearings. The members, as you appointed them, were myself, Councilwoman Miller, Councilman DiCicco, Councilman Rizzo, and Councilman Ortiz. The Committee held a couple of hearings. The applicants appeared and also filled out a fairly extensive questionnaire, submitted their background information or resumes, were interviewed by the Committee, and the Committee passed on this 3 BILL NO. 030634 - 10/8/03 recommendation, which is embodied in Resolution No. 3 030634 with the names that are laid out in Attachment A. Based on that process, Madam President, unless there are questions -- and I think we have submitted or circulated all the information to all the members -- unless there are individual questions, I would recommend approval of this resolution to be sent on to the full Council so that these individuals' names can be submitted to the Mayor in accordance with the process as established under the Police Advisory Commission Ordinance and Executive Order.
