Just Stated Meeting October 31, 2019 briefly, inviting my colleagues and staff members to come to a briefing at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon to talk about supermarkets and food deserts and quality employers here in the City of Philadelphia, and I want to thank my co-host for this event, Councilwoman Parker. Thank you.

Thank you, Mr. President. I just wanted to say a couple of things. First is that from time to time I've heard other members of Council recognize other staff that are Stated Meeting October 31, 2019 leaving, particularly for law school, which seems to be very, very popular among City Council staffers, and now I too have a member of my staff who is going to be leaving us for law school, and that's Christian Matozzo, who has done a fantastic job as a legislative coordinator. (Applause.)
He'll be at Temple University -- is at Temple University. And we wish him the very, very best as he continues his studies and becomes a big star in this town. The other thing I just wanted to mention, which weighs very heavily on my heart, is that as I was sitting here today, I was informed of the passing of Tom Page. Many of us in this Chamber know of Tom Page and knew of Tom Page and his work that he did for many years at Freedom Theatre, and he was just such a gifted, gifted individual who left such a legacy on so many of us, not just in City Stated Meeting October 31, 2019 Council, but on kids in the neighborhood. He was just a phenomenal person. And so we're going to really miss him. He was a wonderful person, and I just want to make sure everyone knew and will provide information on the arrangements once they become available. So thank you so much, Mr. President.
