Yes, Madam Chair. I had plans first speech since coming to City Council this morning. I will not give a speech. However, I want to let everyone know that the red bags that are on our desks or compliments from Governor of Puerto Rico in celebration of Puerto Rican Heritage Week. This Monday the Puerto Rican Flag was raised outside of City Hall next to the American flag for the first time in 25 years. The last Mayor to be okay with that -- I don't want to insinuate that the successor mayors have not been okay with it, but it was the late great Frank Rizzo that saw to it that while he was Mayor that he would let the Puerto Rican people raise the flag of Puerto Rico outside of City Hall. So it was a ver proud moment on Monday to be able to raise the flag again. If you ever visited Puerto Rico, you'll see that all government buildings exhibit two flags, the American flag and the Puerto Rico flag. Tonight is the annual Puerto Rican mass and procession. This year we're celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Arch Diocese in office for Hispanic Catholics. And this was an event also that the late Frank Rizzo would attend every year. Saturday is the annual Puerto Rican Day Banquet in Franklin Plaza. Tickets are still available. I can make them available to you. Sunday is the Puerto Rican Day Parade on the Parkway. Many of you have been there many times over the years. The parade will begin at 22nd and Parkway at 12:00 noon and continue to Logan Circle. Many of the Hispanic organizations in the City have been founded by people of Puerto Rican descent. The combination of Hispanic businesses and social service have indicated in the last few years that Hispanic-owned businesses and social service agencies are one of the principal employers of people of Hispanic descent. Thank you, Madam President, for letting me express myself on behalf of people from the island of Puerto Rico and American citizens who are celebrating our heritage this week.
Thank you. The Chair recognizes Councilman Rizzo.
Madam President, I had two guests here earlier but they had to leave and I just want to make sure that I acknowledge them. Tom Cronin and Pete Matthews.
