City of Philadelphia Public Hearing Notice The Joint Committees on Public Safety and Legislative Oversight of the Council of the City of Philadelphia will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM, in Room 400, City Hall, to hear testimony on the following items: 240718 Resolution authorizing the Joint Committees on Public Safety and Legislative Oversight to hold hearings examining actions necessary to significantly reduce the Philadelphia prison population in an effort to permanently close Philadelphia’s oldest and most inhumane prison facility, The Detention Center.
Immediately following the public hearing, a meeting of the Joint Committees on Public Safety and Legislative Oversight, open to the public, will be held to consider the action to be taken on the above listed items.
